St. Timothy Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes

May 16, 2006

 

Present:  Joe Meiman, Larry Lense, Fr. Bolte, Jerry Grefer, Michelle Svec, Marin Smith, Sarah Hoeben, Mary Brzinski, Laura Eades

Absent:  Rick Hoban, Mark Dornhoff, Kim Weihoff

 

1.       Community Pillar – Michelle Svec reported that Vacation Bible School will be June 12-16, 2006.  Committee is starting to work on Oktoberfest.

 

2.       Worship Pillar – Larry Lense reported that there was no meeting for Worship since last PC meeting.  No updated information reported.

 

3.       Outreach Pillar – Mary Brzinski reported that there are many volunteer opportunities for May.  See the bulletin and or Greg Egbers for details. 
HONK needs volunteers for Saturday, May 27th.  Jim Sholar is lead for HONK. Contact Jim at 384-2922 or jsholar@fuse.net
Interfaith Hospitality Network – needs volunteers to spend the night with the homeless families at Christ United Methodist Church on Monday, May 29 and Tuesday, May 30.  If you would like to volunteer, contact Pam Doremus at 384-1317 or Greg Egbers at 384-1100, ext 25 or gegbers@saint-timothy.org.

 

4.       Fromation Pillar – Marin Smith reported. PSR registration forms for 2006-07 will be sent out with the June/July Companion.  Nursery and Sunday Preschool – A 2 year old program to begin in the fall to be held on Sundays with Deb Thomas as the coordinator.  Summer Sunday preschool runs from July 9- August 13th.  Youth Ministry – Charlotte is recruiting adult volunteers in order to launch the Life Teen program in the fall.  The possibility of St. Tim having this program hinges on successfully recruiting 12-15 adults to share the load.  Adult Faith Formation continues with Spiritual Masters.  Sr. Marla Monahan will be the presenter for May’s Come Saturday Morning on May 20th

 

5.       Pastor Report – Father Bolted reported that as of May 16th, 70 people have volunteered for the Discernment process for Pastoral Council, Finance and St. Paul School board openings.  Facilitation to take place on May 21, 2006 at 12:30 pm.  DPAA income as of May 16th was over $100,000.  Our goal is @ $130,000.  Any money we can raise over our Goal is good because there is no assessment fee with DPAA income.  Greg Egbers will be leaving at the end of May.  Would like to make 2 part time jobs.  One would be for Outreach lead and the other would be for Business Manager.  Father is getting assistance from volunteers to interview interested people.  Father requested PC members to take turns with Prayers at the beginning and end of each PC meeting.  Mary Brzinski to lead the prayer for the June meeting.  September 9, 2006 is the Planning Day for Pastoral Council and anyone in the parish to look at future for Saint Timothy Church.  Details to follow. 

 

6.       Finance Council – John Gould at PC meeting to discuss the 2007 budget in the absence of Rick Hoban.  The budget was presented but had no details attached.  Detailed budget to be emailed to the Pastoral Council members for assessment.  Council members can email questions/concerns to Finance Council and Father Bolte.  2007 Budget to be approved by Pastoral Council after all questions answered at the June meeting. 

 

7.       Updated St. Timothy Parish By-Laws.  Laura Eades motioned to approve updated By-Laws.  Michelle Svec seconded motion and By-Laws were approved by Pastoral Council

 

8.       Jerry Grefer reported that Pastoral Council will need to elect new officers for Secretary and Council Chair.  Volunteers for these positions should let Father Bolte know and elections will take place at future PC meeting.

 

9.       Mary Brzinski asked if anyone from PC would be interested in attending adoration at 6:45 pm then Benediction before Pastoral Council meeting on June 20th.  If interested and can come, meet at church at 6:45 pm. 

 

 

Next Pastoral Council meeting scheduled for June 20, 2006 at 7:15 pm.
