1. F06 Preliminary Budget Summary- Presented by Jerry Glenn
Meetings continue with the Finance Committee to finalize the Budget
for F06. We are approaching financial crises due to: A) Funding
remodeling without a capital campaign. B) Excessive Catholic school
subsidies – we will have a deficit of about $100,000.00 at the end
of F05. C) Sunday contributions drop to 95% of projection – this
will contribute to an additional deficit of about $70,000.00. There
is much state of confusion about why St. Timothy income is
decreasing. Communication to the parish regarding the decreased
contributions to the parish needs to be addressed. Jerry stated that
a plan is being made by the staff to address to the entire parish
community. Some ideas for addressing the deficit are develop a new
plan for school subsidy, promote parish vibrancy and last resort to
appeal to Bishop Foys for relief of principle payments. If DPAA is
successful, we can pay off the land. Further Finance committee
meetings will finalize the budget. To receive entire F06 Budget
Summary, please contact Jerry Glenn, Business manager at St.
Timothy’s.
2. St Timothy staff meeting with Bishop Foys – reported by
Fr. Gamm
Fr. Ruschman to administer to St. Tim’s for now until a pastor is
permanent. Bishop Foys is leaving the door open for now for our
parish future. Fr. Witte remains at New Life institute. Bishop Foys,
Fr. Witte and a counselor will make decision for completion of
therapy for Fr. Witte. Letters sent to Bishop Foys regarding Fr.
Witte were equal pros and cons for Fr. Witte’s return. If anyone in
the parish community has questions about the meeting about Fr. Witte
with the Bishop, please contact the parish staff.
3. Staff Replacements– Fr. Gamm reported
Ted Lewis’s position replacement to be offered to a person this
week. Fr. Gamm permitted to make offer for Outreach Ministry leader
by Bishop Foys. This is the only decision the Fr. Gamm was permitted
to make per Bishop Foys. There is a search committee for Annette
Howard’s position. Lois Lambers will not be replaced due to Dottie
Due being in the role as she is today. Fr. Witte was aware of above
before he left.
Next Parish Council meeting will be June 21, 2005 at 7:00 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Laura Eades
Parish Council Secretary
