Saint Timothy Parish Council Meeting
Minutes
June 7, 2004
Present: Laurie Battiston, Joe Mieman, Larry
Lense, Jill Canode, Mary Brzinski, Rick Hoban, Jerry Grefer, Fred Bernier, Sarah
Hoeben, Marin Smith, Mark Anderson, Diana Taylor, Father Witte, Laura Eades
1. Opening prayer, Pentecost Prayer for June, read by Joe Meiman.
2. Saint Timothy F05 Budget Summary presented by Gerry Glen. Joe Meiman motioned
to approve F05 Budget as presented. Mary Brzinski seconded motion. F05 budget
approved per Parish Council. If you are interested in details about the Budget
summary please see Gerry Glen and/or Father Witte.
3. Community Pillar Pastoral Plan update was deferred to August meeting due to
time constraints. Jill Canode or representative from the Community pillar will
present this at the next Parish council meeting in August.
4. Boone County Demographic Study presented by Randy Poe, Deputy Superintendent
for Boone County Schools, and Kevin Costello, Boone County Planning Commission.
A power point presentation describing Boone County population trends for the
next 20 years was presented. The number of new single family homes in Boone
County in 1999 was 1,252 and in 2003 was 1, 564. Future residential growth areas
included Florence, Union/Richwood, Burlington, Hebron and Walton. Factors
affecting the future residential growth included: a) Economy – low interest
rates, b) Jobs/Employment, c) Sanitary Sewer capacity, d) Changing demographics
– income and age levels, e) Implementation of Union Town Plan, f) 2020-2025
Future Land Use Map. Also presented was a map of the St. Timothy Parish boundary
and Elementary, Middle school and 2025 Future land use. Much growth is expected
in the next 20 years.
5. Meeting was adjourned at 8:25 pm. No Parish council meeting scheduled for the
month of July. Next meeting will be Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 7:00 pm.
