4. Father Gamm Introduction as Parochial administrator – Father reviewed his previous assignments as Parochial administrator in the past. He has been a Parochial administrator three previous times since 1984 in three different parishes. He is here to maintain parish life as it is at the present. His role as administrator is defined from Code of Canon Law, page 207. Can. 539 – When a parish becomes vacant or when the pastor is prevented from exercising his pastoral office in the parish due to captivity, exile, banishment, incapacity, ill health or some other cause, the diocesan bishop is to appoint as soon as possible a parochial administrator, that is, a priest who substitutes for the pastor in accord with the norm of can. 540.

Can. 540 – 1. A parochial administrator is bound by the same duties and enjoys the same rights as a pastor unless the diocesan bishop determines otherwise.
2. A parochial administrator is not permitted to do anything which can prejudice the rights of the pastor or harm parish goods.
3. After he has fulfilled his function the parochial administrator is to render an account to the pastor.

5. Pastoral Plan review – Discussed the need for Pillar updates to the council on what is happening in each of the ministries. Jerry Grefer will ask Ted Lewis to speak for Outreach ministry at next council meeting in February.

6. Diocesan Loan – Finance Council, Father Gamm and Gerry Glen to discuss the Diocesan Loan for the land in the near future. Tony Depenbrock will also be included about payment plan as well. Commitments for DAA is due at the end of April. Will have follow-up discussion about the loan as a definite plan is made to repay to Diocese.

Meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm. Next Parish Council Meeting is scheduled for February 15, 2005 at 7:00 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Laura Eades
