Reports from January and February meetings were reported.  Members would like to put something in the Gathering space to honor family members who are serving in the military.  An article will be placed in the bulletin to determine interest in this project.  Stations of the Cross during Lent will be on Fridays at 7:30 pm following the Fish Fry.  Holy Thursday Mass will be at 7:00 pm.  There will be 12 people for the washing of the feet.  Each Pillar leader is to select three people from their Pillar.  Good Friday service with Veneration of the Cross will be at 1:00 pm.   Easter Masses for Easter Sunday will be at 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM and 11:00 am. The Children’s Choir will perform at the 9:00 AM Mass and Instrumentalists will do the Easter Vigil and 11:00 AM Mass.  Easter Vigil will begin at 8:00 PM.  Lenten Penance Service will be Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 7:00 PM.

5. Outreach Ministry Report by Mary Brzinski.
New Day Ministry started on February 21, 2006.  Miriam Burkart will lead the group.  Vegetable Garden Ministry has eight individual volunteers and two groups of volunteers for the vegetable garden planting and care.  This garden was created in honor of Fr. Al Ruschman.  Operation Rice Bowl for Lent is a Catholic Relief Service (CRS) program that is used by more than 15,000 parishes in the United States.  Through this program we reach out to assist our brothers and sisters around the world through traditional Lenten practices by offering our prayers, fasting, by learning and by giving.  75% of the dollars collected go to CRS to use around the world in their many different programs.  This year Zambia Africa is one of the five targeted areas for funds.  Ted and Mona Lewis are in Zambia and will benefit from our efforts.  The other 25% of the funds stays in the Dioceses in the U.S. to support hunger and poverty alleviation efforts.  New Hope outreach took place on February 22, 2006.   Upcoming Grants, Dioceses collections and collection include: March Dioceses collection for the International needs, April Grant - Welcome House of Northern Kentucky, Diocesan Parish Annual Appeal.  April 1, 2006, the Boy Scouts are going to head up our Spring Collection.

6. Community Pillar report per e-mail from Michelle Svec who was unable to be at the meeting.
Thank you for the donations of wine and gift cards for the Dinner Dance.  Dinner Dance was Saturday, February 25, 2006.  Men’s group chicken dinner was a success.  They hope to have it at least annually or perhaps more often.  Fish Frydays start March 3, 2006.  Sign-ups in the Gathering Space by region.

7. Formation Pillar report by Marin Smith.
Marin spoke with Dottie Due on the phone about Lenten small groups.  There are six groups starting on February 26, 2006.  There was a Lenten Yahweh Café with the parents in Brodnick Hall.  1/3 of the parents attended.  PSR will be doing the “Good Deed” footprint activity again.  They are also looking to do the penny drive with all of the grades.  The Rice Bowl program will be incorporated into this activity.  Conformation went well last month.  Recycling will be advertised more. The over and above group will be involved with this.   Chris Brewer leads this project.

8. Pastor’s Report by Father Bolte.
There will be 6:30 am masses on Wednesdays throughout Lent.  An 8:00 am mass will be offered on Thursdays starting in Lent and continuing throughout the year.  Bishop Foys meeting was a good meeting.  Discussed future needs of parishes in Boone County.  A plan is needed for the future of Catholic religion throughout our county.  February 21, 2006, St. Paul letters went out to eighteen families that were not contributing to parish life.

9. Pastoral Council By-Laws draft lead by Mary Brzinski.  Continued discussion about new By-Laws draft.  Will continue working on these in March.

10. Mary Brzinski brought idea of prospect of a Parish wish list.  Father Bolte suggested the pillars and committees should keep within their individual budgets for wants and needs.  If people would like to donate money for a particular object they can do this, but there should be no solicitation for it.

11. Next Pastoral Council meeting is March 15, 2006 at 7:15 PM.

12. Closing prayer offered by Jerry Grefer.

Respectfully submitted,
Laura Eades
