This pharmacy, located in
Crescent Springs in the back of the St. Vincent
de Paul store, serves the working class poor, the
uninsured and other qualifying clients who
do not have prescription aid. The pharmacy
dispenses drugs that require a prescription by
federal law. Primarily, these drugs are
targeted at treating or controlling major
disease: diabetes, high blood pressure, heart
disease, breathing problems and asthma, high
cholesterol and psychiatric diseases. In
2007, the pharmacy helped over 340 clients and
filled over 7,367 prescriptions.
September grant dollars will allow for the
purchase of insulin and generic medications that
will improve the clients quality of life
while lowering health care costs. Vist

Outreach
Project
Our outreach grant
project will be two-fold. The first activity
will be assisting with the stuffing of
invitations for the pharmacys Grand Event,
its largest fundraiser, which will take place in
November. For the second part, a group of
volunteers will help with the assembly of gift
baskets for the Grand Event. Project dates
are still to be determined but will occur
sometime late September for the first project and
near the end of October for the second. Look
for more information in the upcoming weekend
bulletins.
