Action Ministries began in 1995 as a small
program to distribute government commodities to
low-income families in the Ryland Heights area of
Northern Kentucky. Today, this food pantry is
housed in its own 8,000 sq. ft. office/warehouse
building in Latonia across from Johnny's Toys. It
serves an average of 500-600 families a month in
southern Kenton County. Through their financial
resources and grocery donations, Action
Ministries is able to give $150-$175 worth of
groceries each month to its clients who are
referred to them by the Family Resource Centers
at the local schools, area churches, and
government agencies.

One
of Action Ministries largest food donations comes
from the annual food drive done by the postal
service each May. Our service project will take
place on Saturday, May 17 from 9am-1pm when St. Timothy
parishioners will visit the center to help with
the sorting, labeling (a small sticker is place
on every item saying "In God's love, Action
Ministries"), & stocking of donations
from this drive. It is a family friendly project
that will begin at 9am & end around 1pm.
Sign-up for this project will take place after
all Masses the weekends of May 3-4 and 10-11.
The
May grant dollars will help with the cost of a
project to optimize flow and storage in the
warehouse with new racks, picking system and
framing in of the distribution room.
