Our September tithing
will fund this months grant for Care Net
Pregnancy Services of Northern Kentucky. The
project for which the grant is being awarded is
the Ultrasound Program: Window to the
Womb. The funds will assist with the
start-up costs of the program which will provide
ultrasound services to all women who visit the
clinic and test positive for a pregnancy, but
especially target those clients whom are
considered abortion vulnerable and abortion
minded.
Care Net has been serving
the families of Northern Kentucky since July 1999
by providing pregnancy testing, pregnancy
counseling, parenting training, sexual health
counseling and more. In seven years, Care
Net has grown from a single office to a
multi-site organization with offices in Boone,
Grant, and Kenton counties.
Kathleen Kiely, Care
Nets executive director, will speak at our
weekend Masses on September 8 & 9. For more
information about the organization, visit Care
Nets website: www.carenetnky.org.
Our Outreach Project will take
place at St. Timothy on Monday, October 1, from
7:00-8:30 p.m. when CareNet will present their
abstinence program for parents and youth.
Presenter, Clare Ruehl, will address the youth
with the topic of sexual integrity. She does an
outstanding job teaching that our sexuality is a
gift from God and is to be respected and taken
care of. While the talk may not be appropriate
for young children, parents of the young are
encouraged to attend as the discussion can give
guidance for future discussions with the young.
