Seminarian Education Fund

The parish tithe for October is the diocesan collection for the education of our seminarians. Our diocese is experiencing a positive trend with more men exploring and answering Christ's call. We have a great opportunity to ensure the continued quality education and formation for our seminarians. It costs the Diocese about $600,000 annually for the education and well being of our seminarians. This cost includes tuition, room and board, books, retreats, insurance, and a small living allowance. Presently the Diocese of Covington has 16 men studying for the priesthood.

Seminarian Studies include:
• 4 years college with major in Philosophy
• 1 year pre-theology if college graduate, not majored in philosophy
• 4 years theology
