“New beginnings are so hard to find.” (quote from Jesse Colter). St. Timothy Parish recognizes this and offers  “The New Day: A Journey from Grieving to Healing" -- a nine week program to assist you with the death of your loved one. It gives you a place to specifically work through the natural process of grieving – which allows you to process your feelings and eventually move forward to new beginnings.

Grieving is a process that is unique to you! Only you know the relationship you had with an individual. Only you have the personal history with that person. Only you experience your feelings surrounding the life and death of your loved one. And you are the only one who is traveling your path in the process of grieving.

It doesn’t matter how long ago your loved one died, one month or 10 years ago -- “The New Day” program can serve you. Give yourself permission to take the time and honor yourself to grieve the death of your loved one(s).

If you are interested in supporting a person who is grieving, consider doing three things:

  • Listen to them - especially in the first year. You will hear the same story over and  over again. Act as if it is the first. Listening is the greatest gift you can give!

  • Include them in ways you included them before the death.

  • Encourage them to attend “The New Day” program.

St. Timothy Parish offers the "New Day" program twice a year. It is open to anyone in the Northern Kentucky area. You do not have to belong to the parish or be a Catholic. Please give yourself the gift of “The New Day”. Also be a ‘library’ for people and let them know this resource is available to them.
