Terrific Two Year Olds

Purpose
To offer a loosely structured program designed for two year olds to learn about Jesus and how much God loves them. 

Piecing it Together
Meets: Sundays during 9:30 and 11:30am Masses from September to May
          in Brodnick Hall Two Year Old room.           Terrific Twos Schedule
Children must be 2 by October 1. 
Registration is required.

Classroom Routine

Arrival - 9:40 or 11:40am
• Free playtime with designated toys (we want to avoid getting all of the toys out, so please keep the fold and lock facing the wall).

Circle Time - 9:40-9:50 or 11:40-11:50
• Sing a good morning song with the kids.
• Make the sign of the cross and lead them in a very simple prayer thanking God of this day together.
• Sing a song and do a finger play

Craft Time - 9:50-10:00 or 11:50-12:00
• Introduce the concept of the day (Example for the color red: God gave us beautiful colors, what are some things that are red? Identify the objects and put them up on the flannel board.
• Help the kids make their craft, while letting them do as much as possible.
• Crafts may be placed on the tables outside the doors for drying and to get them out of your way.

Playtime and craft clean up - 10:00-10:15 or 12:00-12:15
• Get some designated toys out and let the kids play.
• May take the kids into the open (carpeted) area of Brodnick Hall and let them play with the tents, search for objects that go with the theme and work on gross motor skills.

Story time - 10:15-10:25 or 12:15-12:25
• Let one of the children pick out a story to read. If time allows, choose another. Occasionally there will be stories that correspond with the theme. One of the stories should be biblical.

Good-bye song - 10:25-10:30 or 12:25-12:30
• As each child leaves, sing good-bye
