Primary Religious Education for Grade 3

Purpose

To provide a developmentally appropriate instructional and hands-on program that introduces and enhance the learning of the Catholic faith through the four foundations of parish life; worship, gathering, service and faith formation.

Class Size: 15 students or less per class
Classes meet: Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:40pm     3rd Grade Wednesday Schedule
                    Sunday 8-9:15am and 10-11:15am  3rd Grade Sunday Schedule

Objectives

  • Independently pray:
    -the Sign of the Cross
    -Our Father
    -Hail Mary
    -Glory Be
    -Act of Contrition
    -Prayers of the Rosary

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of locating Bible passages

  • Demonstrate understanding of the Holy Trinity

  • Express the knowledge of the Sacraments of Initiation

  • Express the knowledge of the Sacraments of Service and Healing

  • Know the 10 Commandments and the Great Commandment

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Liturgical Year

  • Understand the concept of Saints as God’s Hero’s
