Second Grade Sacramental Preparation Program

Purpose

To provide a developmentally appropriate instructional and hands-on program that enhances the knowledge and traditions of our Catholic faith for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

Classes meet: Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:40pm    2nd Grade Wednesday Schedule
                    Sunday 8-9:15am and 10-11:15am 2nd Grade Sunday Schedule

Diocesan policy: Catholic school students will receive these sacraments at their home parish.  Registration is required and the students must attend certain events, as indicated on the Catholic School schedule.

• Express the difference of Mortal and Venial sins
• Express the comprehension of the steps to Reconciliation
  - Examination of conscience (10 Commandments)
  - Confession
  - Absolution
  - Penance
  - Reconciliation
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Sacraments of Initiation
• Understand the parts of the Mass and Church
• Demonstrate reverence when in the church
• Express Understanding of the Eucharist
