FAMILIA

FAMILIA (Family Life In America) is a national apostolate for those who want to grow in their faith and bring it home to their families. The programs focus on developing a truly Christian family. Pope John Paul II states, “The future of the world passes through the family.” Our families are the most important people in God’s mission to build up the kingdom.

The "Mothers of Young Children" program is currently active at St. Timothy Parish.  The national organization also includes programs for "Husbands and Fathers",  "Parents of Adolescents", and youth ages 10-16.

Do any of these possibilities interest you?
• Finding support in your role as a mother.
• Sharing in Pope John Paul’s II enthusiasm about family and marriage.
• Gaining insight into Christ in the Gospel and applying it to everyday life.
• Discovering a circle of friends to encourage and inspire you.
• Challenging yourself to experience God outside the Mass and your home.

If you answered “Yes!” then consider FAMILIA. Groups meet twice a month from September through May for ninety minutes. We study three areas. First, we do a Gospel reflection for the upcoming Sunday and discuss how to apply scripture to our daily lives with our families. Next, we study the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Each year we study different areas such as the Ten Commandments, sacraments, beatitudes and Apostles’ Creed. Finally, we study, over the four-year course, seven documents written by Pope John Paul II about God’s plan for marriage and family, the vocation of women, Mary and prayer, and our role in the church.  Childcare is provided during the meetings.

If you have a hunger for a deeper understanding of,  faith in, and commitment to Christ and his Church, we invite you to join FAMILIA.
