FAMILIA (Family Life In America) is a national apostolate for those who want to grow in their faith and bring it home to their families. The programs focus on developing a truly Christian family. Pope John Paul II states, “The future of the world passes through the family.” Our families are the most important people in God’s mission to build up the kingdom. The "Mothers of Young Children" program is currently active at St. Timothy Parish. The national organization also includes programs for "Husbands and Fathers", "Parents of Adolescents", and youth ages 10-16. Do any of these possibilities interest you?
If you answered “Yes!” then consider FAMILIA. Groups meet twice
a month from September through May for ninety minutes.
We study three areas. First, we do a Gospel reflection for the
upcoming Sunday and discuss how to apply scripture to our daily
lives with our families. Next, we study the Catechism of
the Catholic Church. Each year we study different areas such as the
Ten Commandments, sacraments, beatitudes and Apostles’ Creed.
Finally, we study, over the four-year course, seven documents
written by Pope John Paul II about God’s plan for marriage and family,
the vocation of women, Mary and prayer, and our role in the church.
Childcare is provided during the meetings. A new team of mothers is forming this fall starting in September and will meet at St.Timothy.Contact Cyndi Davis for more information and to register. National Office: |
