St.Timothy Parish's goal: $143,204 Diocsesan Office of Stewardship
Pastor's Message 4/20/2008 This campaign is to support the charitable work of the Diocese in the Northern Kentucky community. I hope you agree with me and Bishop Foys that the work done with these monies enables some of the best expressions of the Catholic community’s compassion for the larger community. Our goal for this year is $143,204, about $9,000 more than last year. When we speak of our goal, it is worth noting that the goal is not optional. What we do not raise in the campaign, the parish has to make up for from its operating budget.
Incentive: As a way to encourage fuller participation, the diocese allows us to keep all the monies raised beyond our goal. Normally about 11% of the money collected in a parish goes to fund the operating expenses of the diocese and to support high school education. Any money we are able to raise beyond the $143,204 would go wholly to our parish. The last two years we have been able to meet the goal and to significantly surpass it. We raised over $20,000 two years ago to purchase the crucifix and St. Joseph statue. Last year we raised the $35,000 for the stained glass window. This year, we hope to exceed the goal and raise money for a parish sign and new Stations of the Cross. The new sign will be located on US 42 and you will be asked to choose between two designs. This is projected to cost about $15,000. The parish sign will be the first special purchase if we raise enough money over our goal. If we raise enough money for the Stations, we will also get them. Otherwise, we will put off this purchase for another time. |
